Embedded System Design (Hardware & Software)

The core of embedded systems is the interaction of hardware and software with their technical environment. A classic example is the flight control system of unmanned aerial vehicles. For many applications the Pixhawk can be used, but if requirements, e.g. regarding special data buses, differ from the specifications of the Pixhawk, customized solutions are needed.


One of those solutions is Smart FC®, which was developed for the flight control system of the AlphaLink compound aircraft and provides wireless communication between the individual aircraft modules. AlphaLink developed the entire embedded system including the software and hardware architecture.


As your competent partner, we develop the requirements, design the hardware, and provide the software for your embedded system. To comply with highest standards, we take into account safety requirements such as redundancy and dissimilarity, if desired.





A reliable and high-performance ground station is essential for flight guidance and surveillance of unmanned aircraft. AlphaLink has developed a ground station that can be wirelessly connected to the Pixhawk flight control computer or other systems.


With classic displays like a primary flight display and a joystick, the aircraft can be controlled smoothly. In addition, operating modes of autopilots can be set. By coupling our system with an FPV system, a primary flight display can be superimposed on the camera image. This further increases safety in flight. The devices are small and compact and can also be used as automatic flight control panel in manned aircraft or for flight simulators.

Due to our combined competences in embedded system design, graphics programming and our understanding of the aircraft, we completely customize your avionics according to your needs. This allows use as a ground station for unmanned aircraft or as a backup display in manned aviation, among others.
